About this course
Eighty-five percent of American films are adaptations. This workshop treats adaptation not as translation but as authorship — the deliberate act of choosing whose eyes a story is told through.
Using the HBO adaptation of The Story of the Lost Child as our central case study, writers develop their own adaptation of a chosen source, guided by an Italian woman’s perspective on point of view, fidelity, and reinvention.
